Natural Disasters: How do we react?

Natural disaster happened again. In Myanmar, Nargis cyclone has killed nearly 100,000 people. Approximately a week later, 40 000 people (this number may increase) were killed due to earthquake in China . This was then followed by a small magnitude of tremor in Acheh. Since the occurrence of tsunami in 2004 , the world is facing more frequent earthquake.
It is expected that more natural disasters are going to happen in the future. So, we need to react now.
  • First, the world needs more natural disaster experts.
  • More money should be splashed to accelerate research, monitoring, and produce more efficient alarm and evacuation system.
  • Architectural and civil engineering students should be exposed and trained to design an earthquake resistant building in university.
  • Government should introduce policies to increase the percentage of buildings with earthquake resistant design.

the Chinese were and are about to sue those responsible in building the schools because of they claimed it just the school yg runtuh but not the houses. It must have something to do with height maybe.
But ur 3rd suggestion is what i proposed . I mean , if they take this matter(earthquake) seriously of course it wont become a problem.
But then taking earthquake as precaution will increase in cost.Esp when you are building the structure for a higher level of earthquake.
In japan, they are building the building's base yg flexible while in UK they are building a building yg tahan gegaran itself dr segi stress, yield point sme tu.
this area is really interesting!;D
